MUSIC MONDAY

Having only come to the music of kd lang in the last couple of years, I am still very much in her thrall, and there is so much of her past recordings still for me to discover.

"Watershed" is her recently-released record...it seems very personal, with her songs of love, both good love and bad, feeling to me to come from her own experiences. As a listener, I feel quite privileged that she is telling me these stories from her life.

It's music to really listen to, in quiet moments, not 'something playing in the background'.

If you go to YouTube, you'll be able to watch and listen to a trailer about "Watershed."

So pleased you've discovered KD Lang's voice. To me it's the voice of an angel - so absolutely pure. I have three of her older CDs but you've just convinced me to get this latest one. Of the older ones I especially love Hymns of the 49th Parallel and although they're not her compositions, she seems to bare her soul. Wait till you hear her version of Hallelujah!

I have heard some of her songs CabaC but I've yet to experience all of them. I'll check them out on Youtube later. In the meantime, I've added some music to my blog - you could too, it's free.

I have been a fan for many years. She has a powerfully stirring voice. I enjoyed her duet with Roy Orbison singing 'Crying'.

Hi Caba! Back home and profiting from the Portugal’s Day holiday, I’m trying to catch up your posts.
Amazing the ticket for the BumBum win at Wimbledon! Cabarita beach looks interesting, and I'll check the music...
Thanks also for your comments at Blogtrotter, which has now landed in Santiago de Compostela, Spain!
Hope you enjoy, and have a nice rest of the week!

Small world Cabacurl. Did you know that KD Lang is from my province of Alberta??? I agree with Helen. Her version of Hallelujah is stunning.
