MOVIE TIME

Thanks to Julie's gentle encouragement, once more I embark on my plan to visit the cinema more regularly. If visiting monthly was too difficult, why on earth have I decided on a fortnightly visit?? Am I setting myself up once more for failure??

"The Band's Visit" is a gentle little film that tells of the unplanned visit of a Police band from Egypt to an Israeli town out in the middle of nowhere. It's one of those quiet films where not a lot happens, but it completely absorbs you into the telling of the story. The messages of tolerance, friendship & commonality are very subtly imparted & at times, I also found myself laughing out loud at the droll humour.

A terrific film.

I never heard of this film but it does sound delightful and the type of film that wouldn't rattle my cage too much.

Excellent, Jude. And a good choice to kick off the new promise-to-self.

Not setting yourself up for failure at all. Monthly is not frequently enough to get a roll on whereas weekly can be intrusive. I found that it helped to set up the photoalbum on my blog and then to write my own review. But I am an addict.

Shirley and I went to see "The Visitor" yesterday. When it is at your local, go and see it. I promise you will be captivated and that you will cry! It is also full of music that you will respond to in a very big way. It too is about tolerance, friendship and commonality.

Goodo team ...

Hi Jude,
Just want to say thanks for the lovely comments on my blog.

Also would like to say I love the photos you have been sharing on your blog. Those dudes with the glass bottles? Well, some people just don't use the brains they were born with!

I am adding you to my blog roll (if thats ok) so I can keep updated).

Deanne
xx

I saw a preview of this film; your glowing report has prompted me to try to see it. One of my concert band colleagues has seen it and also liked it.
