DOLPHINS
My friend Paul and I had a wonderfully relaxing day on the Tweed River the other day, swimming at our favourite little spot. That's it in the photo above...at an almost full tide, the water is magnificent, and the sandy beach is perfect for collapsing onto!
On the way back to the boat ramp, several pods of dolphins swam past us. This was the absolute icing on the cake!! My attempts to photograph them were a joke...as soon as they saw my camera aimed at them, they'd stay submerged, till it was pointed elsewhere! Tricky things!

Well, anyhow you caught this one. Great! ;)
You were so lucky! What a shame they didn't appear while you were in the water as you could have swum with them. Apart from horses and some dogs, dolphins are my favourite creatures.
Wow! You might have not caught them jumping out of the water but the photos are still excellent.
Are you sure it is not a shark?
The books shown on my blog are the cover pages of books I have translated :-)
Have a nice weekend.
I think it's a great shot..it almost appears as if it's a shark you have captured on film...:)
Have a great weekend!
Cat
They are slippery little devils aren't they - but so beautiful - well done!!!
Fascinating country!!!!!
I hope you have clicked on my Mona lisa :-))
The video clip is our national anthem revisited by Gainsbourg :-)))
So lucky, don't dolphins just give you that feeling that all is not lost with the world!
We have a pod of dolphins in Adelaide in the (less than pristine) Port Adelaide River. They have made a name for themself and you can sponsor one to help fund research etc, I've sponsored "Rob Roy".
PS have you heard the music of Xavier Rudd, if not believe me I know YOU would like him.
Cheers, Boo
That's one ripper little spot beside the Tweed. Bit like a piece of heaven. Thanks for sharing it with us.
And yep, the Port River Dolphins are delightful. People generally know their names and the locals can easily identify each one. Beautiful creatures, just like yours.
Did you ever get a chance to listen/find that song “One Tin Soldier” when you were discussing your admiration for Liebastood sung by Isolde? If you haven’t found it by Original Caste, I do have a copy playing on my website. If you click on “One Tin Soldier” in the Deezer Music application (it doesn’t load anything to your computer but plays the music in Explorer), you will be able to hear it. All the other songs that I have there are Canadian artists.
Thanks again for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog. The sound of the waves & forest when I took the photo for yesterday's post was amazing, and my descriptions do not do it justice.
But you did get this one...I didn't realize dolphins are camera shy!!
Dolphins, dolphins, dolphins! I love dolphins.
