The photo above is not a recent one...it comes from 30th June,2005, when we had an amazing rain event at Caba. However, it is a fairly accurate depiction of last Friday night, when we had 97mm of rain in about 45 minutes. It was very very scary as our street once more filled to overflowing, yet drivers still tried to find a way through. Because I live near a corner, and because maybe someone had to do it, I went out with my torch and attempted to warn any drivers reckless enough to attempt it.
It is still raining here....and I can't believe how ungrateful I sound in saying that we've had enough. There are many more areas in our wide, brown land that are far more needy.

Very scary indeed! I hope no one was hurt and that the rain has stopped for you.... if only to let the water go down a bit. I popped over from OWT's blog.
Hi Caba, We've been lucky in the Boston area with not too much rain lately. Thanks for visiting my blog. Cheers!
We'd love some rain here as today is about 32 degrees with a hot westerly wind blowing - awful! Some parts of Sydney had severe storms and lots of rain last week, but not where I am. We had a little bit over a week ago, but not enough really. I hope things are settling down for you up there and that nobody was hurt, including you, you were very brave!
Hi Caba
I left msgs on tyour posts on Robyn's birthday, and ATCs.
Well, I lost the election :-( Never mind - life goes on, and there will beother things round corners I am sure.
Will email you when I get time!!
(I'm not devastated, by the way...)
My goodness! I take you mean that your street floods enough to stall cars. Is that right? I know you were able to convince some of them. Good job. And an amazing photo.
That was very brave and civic-minded of you - you must have got very wet!!!
Great action shot!!!
It rained for a day in Montpellier last week. This region is not "made for" rain. It becomes as grey as the sky as soon as the rain starts falling.
Is that a limo in your photo ? :-))
Flash flooding are very scary, the problem can be what the water carries with it. I hope in abates soon nd travels to more needy areas. Well done for being brave enough to go out and warn others, but take great care.
Yair; take care.
It would be great to capture the floodwaters to balance out the drought conditions elsewhere.
Sigh........
