Bundaberg Pubs no. 1

I've just returned from visiting the Queensland branch of my family, in Bundaberg. Bundy is probably most famous for its rum and its ginger beer. Each is wonderful on its own, but mix them together and you have a 'Dark and Stormy'. Quite an apt name for the impact Bundy rum can have on some drinkers!

For the next few days, I'll post pictures of some of the more 'picturesque' watering holes in Bundy. Today, the Club Hotel, built in 1890., on the corner of Bourbong and Tantitha Streets, Bundaberg.

Bundy rum and ginger beer? I think I'd rather have a Bacardi and coke. Better still a glass of good red wine! The hotel is a very attractive building.

Welcome back cabacurl - I missed your posts and your comments on mine!!!

This makes me sooo homesick - the Qld pub - you can't beat it. Have had lots of great times in Bundy - but I don't drink the rum anymore - that was in my past!!! Am a wine drinker now

Welcome back! Loved to see this picture; it remembered me another hotel in Manly! Bundaberg was the home of a friend I met in Scottland - Noel Evans. Once, when in Brisbane, I thought to go there, but didn't manage. Look forward to seeing some more pictures from Bundaberg!
