Lunar Eclipse
If you live in our wide brown land, I hope you were able to watch last night's total eclipse of the moon. It was called a 'Blood Moon', because at its maximum effect, the eclipse gave the moon a russet colour.Initially, we had a cover of light cloud here, but as the moon rose, and the eclipse began, the cloud did the right thing, and buggered off somewhere else! Up and down my street, people would come outside every 10-15 minutes and see what it was up to. Conveniently, it occurred between about 7pm and 9.30-ish, and so meant many more people saw it.
The photo above was taken in Brisbane by Beau Chenery. If you are interested in more images, my Local ABC has a page of links and information, including a time lapse movie.

Nice shot! Fog ruined it for me ...
Great shot!! The blood red colour is very mysterious and enchanting.
Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog.
not visible in our neck of the woods this time but we got a good view back in March -- http://ackworthborn.blogspot.com/2007/03/lunar-eclipse-poetry.html
Very cool shot -wow. I was asleep so I did not get up to view it.
Oh how I wish I could have seen it. It was overcast here. This is a great shot.
Great stuff - we watched the end of it up here in Rabaul - we had been inside drinking and having fun and forgot - ooops!!!!
We did have the added effect of a red glow from the crater of the volcano to add to the dramatic effect though!!!
Our media didn't even mention it. I have never seen one but I wish I could. The photo is very impressive..
Thanks for stopping by my blog and the photo was more than likely set up, I don't really know. Have a great day!
I meant to watch but feel asleep ....lovely picture.
We had a perfect view of the moon in all its phases from just outside our front door, or from a bathroom window. Fantastic!
Exceptional photograph
I would like to see it well in very large on a wall cheer
One of the best eclipse shots I have seen! Great work.
